Overview

A 50k ultra following a well established long distance path from Diss to Norwich on well marked trails. The Boudicca way follows a beautiful trail through historic South Norfolk Villages where Boudicca, The Queen of Iceni, once ruled resisting the might of the Roman Empire and cementing her place in history. You will pass through places where history exudes from every pore. Ancient settlements like Saxlingham Nethergate, Shotesham and Caistor Roman Town, one of only 3 Roman towns in the UK that hasn't been built on. Caistor was the capital and stronghold of the Iceni tribe and archeological finds here date back to the 1st century AD. These are truly ancient grounds you will be running on. The path is well marked and the running surface is generally good. Coupled to the excellent train links between the start and finish (the start is about 200 metres walk from Diss train station) and a 10 hour time limit this would definitely suit first timers.
