The Maldon Mud Race charity places
The Original World Famous Maldon Mud Race in which competitors race to be the first to complete a 400 metre dash over the bed of the River Blackwater and only happens at low tide!

The race can only take place at low tide when the water is low enough to allow participants to run safely through the water to the opposite bank and back again.
There is also a whole event village with a fun fair, stalls, food, activities and stage entertainment.
The race attracts 300 participants and 15,000 spectators every year.
Competitors and press from all over the world are warming up to join in the fun at the Maldon Mud Race, Promenade Park. The event will attract visitors and press from all over Europe, including Italy and Germany. The event features 300 fund-raising entrants, all of whom will be raising money for charities.
