You may wish to travel to Wales with family or friends. Should they wish to enjoy the country while you race, the following sights are highly recommended:

image
CONWY CASTLE
An imposing fortress and World Heritage Site built by Edward I between 1283 and 1289 in Conwy, north Wales.
image
PENRHYN SLATE QUARRY
Ride the fastest zip line in the world whilst enjoying panoramic views of the slate quarry and local coastline.
image
SNOWDON RAILWAY
Head to the summit of the tallest mountain in England and Wales without breaking a sweat. An unforgettably scenic journey.

I’m from the Caribbean and I started my running journey three years ago. I’ve ran a few ultras, but nothing like an Ultra X event. From day one on arrival to the last day everyone was amazing. It felt like a holiday with a lot of running and challenges. It was my first ever staged race. The whole experience felt more than just a race. You meet amazing people, from the runners down to the staff. I will definitely be looking for more events that you guys do. Keep up the amazing work. Amado O

The Ultra X team provided a wonderfully inclusive, welcoming and supportive environment from beginning to end. The routes were exceptional, taking us to hidden parts of Wales that were just stunning. The views from the mountains were incredible and well worth the climbs up! The medics and osteopaths/physios were outstanding and provided exceptional support to all runners, going above and beyond to ensure runners could keep moving safely. Highly recommend this 5 day event in Wales. Stephen K
