This mountain adventure is based in the stunningly beautiful town of Cortina d’Ampezzo in the heart of the Dolomites. From the comfort of the hotel the group will head out each day to explore the peaks of Cinque Torri, Tofana di Rozes and Croda del Lago, accompanied by an expert guide throughout.

Climb to the summit of Lagazuoi for panoramic views, discover first world war battle grounds and follow dramatic pathways under vertical rock walls. Finish the Dolomite adventure with a journey to the foot of the iconic Tre Cima di Lavaredo.

Degree of difficulty

  • Rated as a moderately difficult trip, participants should be comfortable with long days on foot. 
  • Hiking days range from 5-7 hours on foot, over five consecutive days. with vertical ascent of up to 1000m.
  • Experience in multi-day hikes through mountainous terrain would be advantageous.
  • Mountain weather can vary significantly and change quickly, be prepared for all conditions.
  • In summer, temperatures can rise sharply and the sun intensity becomes a factor.

Italian gastronomy

  • Full board is provided during the trip, with the exception of lunch on the first day. 
  • A continental-style breakfast is served each morning, a range of breakfast items along with plentiful tea and coffee.
  • Guides will prepare a picnic lunch each day, to be carried in participants' day packs, this will include fruit, vegetables, cold meats, cheese and fresh bread
  • Evening meals will be taken at the hotel or a nearby restaurant and will be comprised of three courses.

Accommodation in Cortina

  • A comfortable 3* hotel will serve as the base for the entire trip. Double or twin rooms are offered with private bathroom facilities. Single rooms can be arranged upon request. Rooms are equipped with Wifi and safety deposit box.

Arrival in italy

  • Fly to Venice Marco Polo Airport (VCE) on day one of this adventure. Well connected to many UK and European airports, with selected direct flights from the USA.
  • Guides will greet arrivals before a transfer to Cortina d'Ampezzo, which leaves at approximately 1430.

Dolomites Itinerary

  • Day 1 | Arrival in the Dolomites

    Fly to Venice Airport to take a transfer to Cortina d'Ampezzo, where the hotel will be the base for the duration of the trip. Enjoy a welcome dinner and pre-trek briefing. 

  • Day 2 | The Cinque Torri path

    Take a local bus to the Falzarego Pass. The starting point for the iconic Cinque Torri path. 5-6 hours hiking, reaching a max altitude of 2575m. Circle around the peak to reach the Nuvolau Pass. Return to hotel in the afternoon

  • Day 3 | Lagazuoi

    Returning to the Falzarego Pass, to climb to the summit of Lagazuoi at 2835m, offering superb views of the mountain range, and the only glaciated peak in the area, Marmolada.

  • Day 4 | Tofana di Rozes

    Departing from the Dibona Refuge, complete a full tour of the 3225m high Tofana di Rozes. Dramatic balcony paths and sublime views of the surrounding area.

  • Day 5 | CroDd del Lago

    Take a local bus to the Giau Pass, to embark on a hike following gentle paths through alpine meadows, before circling the cliffs of Croda del Lago, before a descent into the densely wooded forests surrounding Lago di Federa.

  • Day 6 | Tre Cime di Lavaredo

    Hike to the Locatelli refuge in the midst of Tre Cime di Lavaredo, perhaps the most dramatic, and famed of all peaks in the Dolomites. 

  • Day 7 | Departure

    Following breakfast at the hotel, take a transfer to Venice Airport to start the journey home.
