Event overview
If you like beautiful races in beautiful places, like fun, like medals and like goodies then this event is for you.
You'll enjoy a bespoke medal and lots of goodies at the finish line.

This event is part of the It's Grim Up North calendar of runs, offering a range of distances and levels of difficulty so there is something for everyone.
Famous for its low-key approach, all runners will be greeted with a warm smile and friendly chat.
The aim is to get you out running, help you enjoy the beautiful countryside with great camaraderie and for you to experience the sense of well-being you get when you cross that finish line.
You'll be shown that the North is anything but Grim.
Starting and finishing in the beautiful town of Slaithwaite, nestled in the West Yorkshire moorland, this run follows the historic Huddersfield Narrow Gauge canal out to Huddersfield and back to the tunnel end visitor centre.
You will get to know all the locks and you will follow this well-paved tow path.

Great fun on the hilliest canal around !! John W
Loved it, really friendly community vibe, smiling through the whole way with the local runners. Sweat treats at the end. Nice village to walk about after. Nicole B
I loved every moment of the 10k, it was such a beautiful course, there were no huge crowds or pressure on the day, which I loved. It was a really laid-back, give it what youβve got sort of race. Runners were encouraging and supportive of one another, as were the Marshalls. I loved the event from start to finish, the fantastic medal and goodies after were a huge added bonus. Also affordable event to enter and the pre-race information was better than any Iβve received from many other bigger events, and great access to facilities. I will definitely do it again and would 100% recommend it to anyone. Christina M
First time I've done a Grim Up North event. Really enjoyed the informal, friendly atmosphere, which made a change from other races I've done Mark G
