Event overview

This event hosts a qualifier for the British Triathlon GB Age-Group Team in the Standard Duathlon, offering a chance to qualify for the 2027 Age-Group European Championships.

Roadford Lake is an outstanding duathlon venue. The opening run features two laps of a traffic-free 5K circuit, mostly on gravel.

The bike leg uses quiet, rolling roads and is so highly regarded that it’s regularly used for the National Masters Road Race Championships. The final run completes one more lap of the same 5K circuit.

This is a non-drafting duathlon, run under British Triathlon Federation rules. A TT or triathlon bike will be the fastest choice on this course.

Thank you for organising a great event, absolutely loved it. Marshall’s friendly, well organised, definitely the first of more duathlons for me, might try the standard one next year. Nick Cooper

Outstanding venue! Great swimming conditions. Bettina K

What a great day of triathlon. A very well run event in a stunning location. All potential course hazard were addressed in the pre-race brief. Plus not fault the event chapeau Sportiva Events πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ» Shaun C

Absolutely fantastic event, very well run, great atmosphere, incredible location, good selection of distances to choose from and great that aquabike was included. Only suggestion would be to have finish line infront of cafe where majority of spectators were. Well done Sportiva for another fantastic event. Looking forward to September at Roadford. Paul B

Stunning venue. The lake swim was brilliant and there were an amazing number of water safety team members on kayaks, paddle boards and motor boats. Excellent registration which we collected the day before and checked out the run and bike route. Friendly staff and marshals all the way round the course. The bike was beautiful and challenging with lots of hills and well marked. The run was a brilliant mix of hilly trails and tarmac with fantastic support from spectators. Excellent finish goodies as well as plenty of snacks and water to help us celebrate our achievement. Easy parking with plenty of loos. This tri is a must and they offer a variety of distances. Thanks Ben and the team. Chris D

Another absolutely brilliant event, I loved the swim, the bike route was superb and the run leg varied and interesting. Thank you again Ben and crew for a great triathlon. Philippa R

Great event. Last minute change of bike course on the day due to temporary traffic lights popping up over night was well handled / communicated. Randolph B

Absolutely fantastic event with seamless organisation, great choice of venue and lovely course, think the 2 laps of 20km made the bike more enjoyable having not done the event before. Sean P

  • Trees not tees

Sportiva Events is doing its best to minimise the environmental impact of this event. Here are a few of their initiatives:

Sustainability

  • Trees not tees

For all events which include a t-shirt, there is the option to plant a tree instead through a partnership with Treesnottees

  • Avoid single-use plastics

New paper cups have been sourced to be fully recycled back into high-grade paper.

  • Optional medals

Lots of competitors are not interested in finishers' medals so they are now optional. A Β£2 charity donation is made for every medal not selected.

  • Swim hats on request

Swim hats are provided for open water swimming events as they help the water safety teams keep track of swimmers. However for all pool events, swim hats are now on request to reduce wastage.

  • Reuseable zip ties and recycling

Reusable zip ties are used and all rubbish is sorted for recycling after the event.

  • Reducing car use

At the Burrator 10K running race those who commit to walking or cycling to the event get Β£5 discount.
