Ultra runs in the UK
Ultra marathons are any run longer than a marathon (26.2 miles or 42.2 km) - the most common distances are 50K, 100K and 100 miles. Despite this, distance is not always the key challenge with ultra runs - the total ascent gives a much better indication of how hard it will be.
