The second biggest half marathon in the UK begins on Broad Street and ends in the heart of Birmingham, across the road from the university. All along the route you’ll experience a real sense of community and support from the 1,000’s of locals cheering you on.

Main features of the course include beautiful parks, a couple of cricket grounds, the gorgeous village of Bourneville and the iconic landmark building of Selfridges.

Race start – Broad Street

Broad Street
The crowds of supporters wave you off from Broad Street as you embark on the 13.1 mile journey through Birmingham.
 
Calthorpe Park

Calthorpe Park

Just before mile 3 you’ll cross the River Rea and enter the north east section of Calthorpe Park.
Cannon Hill Park

Cannon Hill Park

At around mile 3.5 you’ll enter the splendid Cannon Hill Park.
Edgbaston Cricket Ground

Edgbaston Cricket Ground

Home of Warwickshire County Cricket Club, you’ll run an almost complete anti-clockwise route around the outside of the 25,000 capacity stadium just before hitting the 5 mile mark.

Bourneville

Home to Cadbury World, look out for the purple-painted street lights in this section.

Bourneville
Mile 7 marks the southernmost point of the race as you reach the village of Bourneville.
Selly Oak Park

Selly Oak Park

A section of mile 8 runs along the north edge of Selly Oak Park.
 
Selfridges Birmingham

Selfridges Birmingham

Deep into mile 13 you’ll experience running around the iconic exterior of Birmingham’s Selfridges store, a façade comprising of 15,000 anodised aluminium discs. Only half a mile up the road to reach the finish!
