Experience breathtaking scenery along the shores of Loch Ness, varied distances and a festival atmosphere.
The centuries-old legend of the Loch Ness Monster is a story that continues to run. Along with the scenic beauty of the area, it has been responsible for attracting visitors to this fascinating part of Scotland for many years.
The opportunity to put such a memorable marathon on their record, one with such a unique story to tell, has proven too strong a pull for thousands of runners of all abilities. With a hot meal and entertainment awaiting you at the finish, plus fantastic technical t-shirt included in your entry fee, the Baxters Loch Ness Marathon also offers genuine value for money.
Runners at the Baxters Loch Ness Marathon are taking on the challenge for many reasons: to raise money for good causes, to have fun and enjoy the fantastic setting, to experience the camaraderie, and to achieve their own personal goals.
"Stunning! Beautiful event, very well organised. Beautiful downhill start then undulating route with no major surprises... Highly recommend this event, for me it's up there with Snowdonia... Absolutely loved every minute of it." - Julie Rarity
"My first marathon and I am still buzzing about it now! It was an amazing experience from start to finish. Scenery is ace, atmosphere is ace.. If you only do one Marathon in Scotland make it this one!" - Hayley Willison

Supporting people with dementia in Scotland to make sure nobody faces it alone.
Alzheimer Scotland is Scotland’s national dementia charity providing a 24-hour helpline, dementia resource centres and advisors whilst also funding vital research.
Every £9.38 raised can pay for an hour of support from their Freephone Dementia Helpline; £100 could help their Community Activity Organisers run a group like Music Memories or £880 could fund a day of dementia research.
This is a common concern but once you get signed up and start fundraising the team at Alzheimer Scotland will have plenty of tips for reaching (and smashing!) the target. If you think you're going to struggle, the best thing to do is have a chat with them as each charity has its own approach.
Just click 'Find out more now' and fill in the enquiry form to get their contact details - if you put your question in, someone from their team will get back to you.

£30 raised could enable a small macmillan support centre to be run for one hour or £50 can help fund their online forum for an hour.
