The 14th OPAP Limassol Marathon GSO takes place on Sunday 22nd March 2020 and entries are open.
OPAP Limassol Marathon GSO is Cyprus’ largest sporting event and is known for being flat and fast, covering long stretches of traffic-free road including the spectacular coastal road of greater Limassol. It is ideal for runners of all levels, with a choice of race distances and huge PB potential. Add to this the magnificent views of the sparkling Mediterranean and beautiful spring weather, and it really is the perfect destination for a weekend away with friends, family or running club buddies.
All races start and finish at the palm tree-lined seafront of Molos in the centre of Limassol. The marathon takes runners from Molos westwards past the marina and port, before turning around to run along the coast as far as the ancient ruins of the Royal City of Amathus, dating from 1100 BC. The route stretches along the beautiful Mediterranean coastline, reaching a maximum altitude of 18m and providing runners with magnificent views and a refreshing sea breeze.
A range of exclusive race packages are on offer for the 2020 OPAP Limassol Marathon GSO, providing a great value and hassle-free way for runners to take part in their chosen race. Not to forget the pasta party on Saturday, and the famous after party which lasts all day long on Sunday!
Race weekend kicks off on Saturday with the PrimeTel 5K Corporate Race and the Andrey & Julia Dashin's Foundation Youth Race. Sunday hosts the AIMS accredited OPAP Limassol Marathon GSO, Limassol Half Marathon, the Petrolina 10K Energy Race and the 5K City Race.
