Overview
Experience pure, gravity-fuelled chaos in the Aonach Mòr Avalanche - where runners ride the gondola to high on Aonach Mòr and then launch into a 680-metre descent over just 3.7km. A fast 650m sprint down a wide grassy ski run sets the battle for position before you dive onto the legendary UCI downhill MTB course, charging through technical switchbacks, steep drops and forested singletrack all the way to the valley floor - this is downhill racing like no other.
Your race experience starts with a 15-minute ride on the Nevis Range Gondola to reach the Snowgoose Cafe high on the flanks of Aonach Mòr. Runners will be corralled here and then walked as a group uphill to the start line. The start line will enable a mass start with 650m of wide open ‘piste’ before the start of the UCI downhill MTB track.

What an amazing weekend. From every runner, supporter, volunteer, organiser, exhibitor and the place itself - WOW. This is the best and most iconic event in the UK.
Incredibly well-organised event! Despite seven races taking place simultaneously, the event village never felt overrun / busy. Even if you were taking part in one of the shorter races or simply spectating, it was inspiring to keep track of all those participating in the longer / more demanding races via the multiple big screens and be able to cheer them across the finish line. Even better was the fact everyone crossed the same finish line - made my shorter event feel a little more special than it already was. Everyone was super supportive too - spectators, marshalls, organisers, fellow participants. I will definitely be returning!
