Join Rainbow Trust Children's Charity for the ultimate outdoor challenge, where you’ll push your limits and conquer the elements!

This new adventure triple challenge comprises a 31 mile cycle, a 2 mile paddle and 7.5 mile summit of Helvellyn, England’s third highest peak.β€―β€―

Whether you’re a seasoned athlete, a casual outdoor lover or perhaps you just want to try something new, the Adventure Triple Challenge offers an unforgettable experience in one of the UK’s most beautiful landscapes.

Three challenges (not just one!) to support families with a seriously ill child.

Itinerary

  • Two weeks before - online event briefing

    All participants will attend an online safety briefing two weeks prior to the challenge where there'll be chance to ask any questions.

  • Fri 13 September - Event registration

    18:00 - 20:00 | Register at the event hub where you will be given your event pack inclusive of event number, safety pins and waterproof transition bag. All kit that is needed for the boat and boot phases needs to be put in the transition bags when registering. These bags will be transported to transition areas ahead of event.

  • Sat 14 September - Challenge day

    07:30 | The event starts!

The bike sections are all on road so road or hybrid bikes would be ideal however mountain bikes are also permitted.

Stage 1 - Bikes

The day starts with the first part of the bike phase, beginning at Pooley Bridge and extending to Glenridding (18km, 208m ascent).

Stage 2 - Boats

Upon reaching Glenridding, teams transition to the boats phase and embark on a 3km circular route on the waters of Ullswater.

Stage 3 - Bikes

Following the boats phase, teams face the steepest section of the bike phase as they cycle to Greenside Mines (2.67km, 160m ascent).

Stage 4 - Boots

The boots phase involves a 12km out-and-back hike, summiting Hellvellyn which, at 712m, is England's third-highest peak.

Stage 5 - Bikes

After completing the hike, teams return by bike along the shores of Ullswater to the finish line (20km, 202m ascent).

Once you reach the finish line you can take in the scenic views, receive a medal for your achievement, a complimentary alcoholic or soft drink and have a celebration BBQ!

When you sign up for the Conquer the Rainbow triathlon, you are helping the charity continue to support families with a seriously ill child.
