Event overview

The Lakes Traverse® is a 100km ultra following Wainwright’s coast to coast route through the Lake District fells. The event has an adventurous ethos and culture of self-sufficiency. This ultra crosses the entire width of the Lake District National Park and starts alongside the Northern Traverse in St. Bees on the west coast. The route traverses Ennerdale, Borrowdale, over Grasmere Common, past Grisedale Tarn, through Patterdale, over Kidsty Pike and along Haweswater to finish at Shap. This is a challenging yet beautiful ultra, and a great stepping stone for those aspiring to enter the Northern Traverse.
