Summit Ben Nevis in winter conditions for a personal challenge or for the charity of your choice. Individuals, couples & groups.
Ben Nevis is the highest mountain in Britain and stands 1344m high, rising from sea level at Loch Linnhe and towering over the town of Fort William.
A winter ascent of Ben Nevis is not for the fainthearted! It is cold, can be very windy and has a substantial snow covering! It is almost unrecognisable from the summer. But what a challenge and sense of achievement when successful.
To do this trip you need to have a reasonable level of fitness. You will have a winter skills training day on the Saturday, followed by an ascent of Ben Nevis on the Sunday. The trip is fully guided by qualified mountain leaders.
Day 1: (Friday) Arrival in Fort William.
We'll all meet up in the evening to enjoy a meal, briefing, route planning and equipment check with your guide. Afternoon pick ups at the airport are available at a surcharge.
Day 2: (Saturday) Winter skills training day.
A winter skills training day to ensure you are prepared for tomorrow's ascent. Return to your accommodation for an evening meal and de-brief.
Day 3: (Sunday) Summit Ben Nevis.
After breakfast we'll depart for our Ben Nevis ascent.
This challenge is organised by one of the most responsible operators on the hill and fully respects the areas it operates in, as do the mountain leaders. It is usually run with smaller groups of 10-12 people with drivers & leaders who ensure best behaviour throughout. Leaders always keep to official paths and the organisers contribute financially to the maintenance of the paths, plus a range of other activity.
