Over the past ten years this challenge and the Welsh 3 Peaks Challenge have raised a staggering £1 million to help improve the lives and survival for men living with advanced prostate cancer.
Every year 40,000 men in the UK will be diagnosed with prostate cancer and 10,000 will die from the disease. Why not do something special in 2019 and join us for the Welsh 3 Peaks?
Funding medical research projects to secure a future without prostate cancer.
The mission of PCRC is to develop new therapy for men with advanced prostate cancer. The immediate goal is to increase survival and our vision is a cure for the disease.
The Prostate Cancer Research Centre is the only charity solely focused on funding world class scientists developing new treatments for advanced prostate cancer.
Prostate cancer is the most frequently diagnosed cancer in men. Over 11,000 men die every year in the UK and the number increases every year.
Advanced prostate cancer is treated with hormone therapy, developed in the 1940s. Hormone therapy is still the primary and most effective treatment for advanced prostate cancer. Consequently, survival rates have improved little over the last 70 years. New and more effective therapy is urgently needed.
We are dedicated to improving the survival of the next generation of men and better treatment can only come through research.
