CHALLENGE SUMMARY

Pedal, Paddle, Peak is back for a hugely successful fifth year and you can be part of the action!

Taking place in the easily-accessible Ullswater area, you will benefit from a professionally-organised yet cost-effective challenge.

This challenge has it all: a scenic tour of a classic Lake District lake, Ullswater, surrounded by domineering mountains and a tough hike up the second highest mountain in England, Helvellyn.

  • Cycle 30 miles, canoe Ullswater and climb Helvellyn in one day
  • Get active in beautiful Lake District scenery for eight to nine hours
  • Helvellyn recently crowned Britain's favourite walk
  • Meet your fellow challengers Friday night
  • Teams of four friends, family or workmates
  • Support children and adults with muscle-wasting conditions

On the day

Day 1: Excitement begins
Meet your fellow challengers at a full event briefing and bike-fit during the evening at Newton Rigg College, Penrith.

Day 2: The long-awaited challenge day

Stage 1: Cycle 15 miles
Starting in Penrith and around Ullswater Lake.

Stage 2: Paddle 2 miles
Give your legs a rest as you take on a 2 mile canoe paddle on the stunning Ullswater Lake. Your team will compete in two connected canoe boats creating a stable raft and keeping the team together.

Stage 3: Cycle
Back on your bikes for a steep pedal up to the base of the mountain peak challenge.

Stage 4: Climb Helvellyn - England's second highest mountain
The tough climb to the top will go via the ‘white side’ and ‘lower man’ and return the same route.

Stage 5: Cycle 15 miles
Back to the finish line in Penrith.

Finish!
Celebrate your achievement with your team and others in our complimentary post event celebration meal. Weather permitting we will have barbecue or an indoor catered buffet. You'll have access to showers and a cash bar to wind down and reflect on the brilliant day you will have had.

"My advice is to find three people and enter"

“The camaraderie before, during and after the event created a real buzz within our offices. The event is organised brilliantly with quality equipment, staffing and venues across the event. The BBQ at the end of the day was the icing on the cake, with a great medal and t-shirt to remember the whole experience for many years to come. The challenge itself is tough but do-able, perfect for a variety of abilities. My advice is to find three people and enter!” Michael
