The beautiful seaside town of Eastbourne welcomes athletes back for the IronBourne Long Distance Triathlon!
Athletes of all abilities and experience levels from novice to elite can sign up to take on the challenge which features a memorable jump from the end of the pier!
This event is part of IronBourne Long Distance Triathlon.
This is an inclusive event and participants with disabilities are encouraged to get in touch with a description of the disability which will be assessed and accommodated wherever possible.
IronBourne is a great event for spectators, and you are encouraged to bring your friends and family to watch you race. The location next to the beach is great for the whole family. This year the event will be bigger and better than ever featuring a full event village with a bar, food, ice-cream and various other vendors and stalls.
Once the swim has finished there is a great walk up onto the downs where you can watch the cyclist coming up over Beachy Head. You can then walk down into Whitbread Hollow to catch runners on the first lap of their run before returning to the Western Lawns to catch the finish.
There are many great cafes along the seafront where you can watch the run.

Great food, great views, great times
Fabulous breakfasts, delicious coffees, relaxed lunches and heavenly dinners. Located directly on the beach, offering stunning views from all table inside and out. The perfect place to sip your favourite chilled wine or enjoy one of the spectacular dishes out on the deck.
Open water swimmers. Ironman athletes wanting to practice the 3.8km swim ahead of an Ironman later in the year.
The swim start is one of the most iconic starts on the triathlon calendar, with a jump off the end of Eastbourne's historic pier! The 3.8km swim includes an "Aussie Exit" at the half way point.
First three male and female and first three veteran 40+ male and female.
I've completed four different ironman distance triathlons and have to say this was the best and not just on value for money which it clearly is but the imagination around the course was brilliant, the organisers were so supportive and this is put together by triathletes. I loved and recommend this event. Richard W
This was my first ever triathlon and I loved every minute of it. The fantastic views coming back over the downs (cycle leg) was a definite highlight. Just booked to do again next year. Thanks for an amazing event. Mick M
Such an amazing event. Course was quick. Post-race food and massage was great and the start off the end of the Ppier I think will become iconic in the triathlon world. See you next year without fail. Jonny S
The Ironbourne team have done it again. A smashing event. So many memories.. I don't think there are better, more thoughtfully organised triathlon events out there. Richard C
