Walk For a Cure is a brand new walking event organised by the UK’s leading dementia research charity, Alzheimer’s Research UK.

It gives everyone impacted by dementia a wonderful opportunity to come together in a stunning location to walk, talk and support the charity and each other.

The 5K circular route will begin at the entrance of Holyrood Park with it’s magnificent views of Edinburgh. Follow the bumpy path up and past the majestic Arthur’s Seat, taking in the breathtaking sights of the city.

Explore and enjoy one of Edinburgh's most naturally beautiful locations, with a charity event village for the day as the hub with toilets and refreshments.

The 5K walk will be entirely within Holyrood Park on accessible paths along a well-marked route and completely traffic-free.

The 5k circular route will begin at the entrance of Holyrood Park with it’s magnificent views of Edinburgh. Follow the bumpy path up and past the majestic Arthur’s Seat and take in the wonderful scenery as you make your way back down to the finish line to claim your well deserved medal.


The fully signposted route has both grass and gravel terrains and is accessible for both wheelchairs and pushchairs with assistance. However, please be aware that this route does include a small climb to Arthur’s Seat.
