Fancy a brand new challenge? Team up with family & friends to walk an iconic 19km along the Solent Way - all in aid of Alzheimer's Society.
Before you set off, take a moment to leave a message on the Memory Tree to reflect on those you're walking for. Now time to warm up and go! The route will set off from Castle Field in Southsea, located just in front of the castle. You'll head along parts of the beautiful Solent Way, taking in the Royal Marines museum and Langstone Harbour before heading back to Southsea Castle.
You can either register as an individual or team up with friends, family and colleagues. Training, fundraising and walking as part of a team is a great way of sharing the miles and memories with those who matter most.
This Memory Walk Plus event provides a great opportunity to explore the history of Portsmouth. Once you've completed the 19km walk, why not visit the Historic Dockyard or acheive panoramic views from the 170m-tall Spinnaker Tower.
"Great fun being part of a huge crowd of walkers. Very well organised, great atmosphere!" - Chris, Memory Walker
"I drove a 600-mile round trip to walk in my mother's home town. A very poignant day. I made new friends and absolutely loved it." - Anne, Memory Walker
The Memory Walk Plus series is organised by Alzheimer's Society. After paying your registration fee, your fundraising target will be £200 - every pound you raise will change the lives of people affected by dementia, now and in the future.
