Funding medical research projects to secure a future without prostate cancer.
Last year 56,000 men were diagnosed with prostate cancer in the UK. They are someone's grandfather, father, brother, or son.
Whilst prostate cancer is treatable in the prostate, once it spreads to other parts of the body, it becomes incurable and life-limiting. Our aim is simple: to fund the ground-breaking research into developing patient first treatments, which provide hope and a future for men and their families.
Thanks to our fundraisers, we have recently increased the number of medical research projects we fund by 175%. It is our hope that this will lead to further breakthroughs and the development of future therapies for men with prostate cancer.
This is a common concern but once you get signed up and start fundraising the team at Prostate Cancer Research Centre will have plenty of tips for reaching (and smashing!) the target. No one should have to face cancer alone.
Around 360,000 people are diagnosed with cancer every year in the UK. Macmillan wants to ensure no one faces cancer alone and helps with emotional, physical and financial support from diagnosis to treatment and beyond.
£30 raised could enable a small macmillan support centre to be run for one hour or £50 can help fund their online forum for an hour.

The cancer prevention experts.
With around 40 per cent of cancer cases being preventable - about 144,000 cases in the UK every year - the World Cancer Research Fund seeks to help people make lifestyle choices to reduce cancer risk through their commitment to research projects and resulting advice.
They have funded £104 million of research since 1991 but receive no UK government funding so need your fundraising help to continue their work.
