The start, the swim, much of the run and the finish are all conveniently located together, making excellent spectator viewing at Grafham Water Reservoir. The swim takes place in the lake consisting of a two lap course that is easy to navigate; a quick Australian style exit on each lap makes a great spectacle for your family/friends to support you from.
Once you are out of the water there is a short run to the grass transition area and you are straight out on your bike. The roads around the villages offer great surfaces for fast riding and only the odd short climb to challenge you. The bike course will be fast, but don’t underestimate it – especially if it’s a windy day!
On returning to Grafham Water, your run will take you on a two-lap out-and-back course around the edge of the lake passing transition multiple times, with breath-taking views over to Valve Tower. The run will consist of both tarmac and hard compound tracks.
Starting on the beach, complete two 950m laps, with an Australian-style exit between the two laps.
From the swim exit, there's a short run to transition. Once on the bike, 90km of fast, rolling terrain lies ahead.
After racking, set out on foot, crossing the dam wall, making two laps of the 10.5km course.
There is an overall cut-off time of 8h30 for the event.
The English Championship Middle Distance Triathlon is open to all paid up members of Triathlon England. In order to be eligible for the English Championship Middle Distance Triathlon, Athletes must be current members of Triathlon England.

My first middle distance triathlon. Such a beautiful location. The support from marshals and event team was fantastic. Would highly recommend. | Nadia
Great event! I've taken part a few times. Really friendly support all round and everything is really straightforward.
I like a "no-faff" race and this is great. Turn up, park on site, pick up pack, rack and go! | Michelle
Really enjoyed the event - Marshall's and stewards very incredibly helpful and friendly. Good surroundings - leafy lanes and a pretty reservoir. | Lydia
