Overview

With 40km of mountain terrain and 2800m of ascent, all on technical, single-track trails from start to finish, this makes this a classic skyrunning route to be reckoned with! Starting at the centre of the Great Langdale Valley and the New Dungeon Ghyll Hotel, you will run over the Lakeland Fells, through Lakeland Valleys traversing over some of the most challenging trails in the central Lake District, including to the summit of England’s highest mountain, Scafell Pike. The fastest runners are expected to cross the finish line in under four hours. However our generous cut-off times mean that our final finishers have up to ten hours to make it back to race base, where you’ll be welcomed with a finisher’s meal and drink! Scafell Sky Race was part of the Skyrunning UK series for 2018 and is a current qualifier for UTMB. There is no Vetting is required on Scafell Sky Race
