If you would like to run ‘en masse’ rather than do your own thing, or if you would like to round off your challenge with a festive gathering, then you can also be part of the St Gemma's Santa Dash parkrun Take Over on 16 December!

The wonderful organisers at Woodhouse Moor, Temple Newsam and Roundhay parkruns will be helping St Gemma's host this. Just turn up at your choice of venue, ready to go at 9.00am and the team will be there to cheer you on and proudly hand out medals to all the wonderful Santa dashers!

Woodhouse Moor parkrun

• 09:00 | Saturday 16 December
• Belle Vue Road, Woodhouse, Leeds, LS31DY.
• The event starts from the circular tarmacked area near Akmal’s Tandoori Bistro, just up from the A660 Woodhouse Lane. For reference, a nearby postcode is LS6 1AN, however, please note that this is not a good final destination to head for by car as there is no parking in the immediate area of the start.

Temple Newsham parkrun

• 09:00 | Saturday 16 December
• Temple Newsam Estate, Temple Newsam Road, Off Selby Road, Leeds, LS15 0AE.
• The start is located within a few metres of the entrance to Home Farm.

Roundhay parkrun

• 09:00 | Saturday 16 December
• Roundhay Park, Mansion Lane, Roundhay, Leeds, LS8 2HH.
• The start is half way down Carriage Drive within the park, approximately 80 metres down from the Mansion House towards the large lake.

• Teams of friends and family may have a joint fundraising page and fundraise together. This means the target is shared between you.

St Gemma's Hospice

Helping care for local people with life-limiting illnesses.

St Gemma’s Hospice is a local, independent charity and has been providing expert care to the people of Leeds for 45 years. They provide the best possible care and support for local people with cancer and other life-threatening illnesses. They specialise in pain relief and symptom control to help people live as well as possible, for as long as possible.  All of their services are provided free of charge and £8m needs to be raised every year through events such as the Santa Dash to keep the services running.

• £100

  Could provide a specialist bereavement support session for someone struggling to cope with the loss of a loved one.

• £250

  For a St Gemma's community team member to visit a patient in their own home and provide clinical advice and support.

• £500

  Funds care for one in-patient staying at the Hospice for one day, covering everything from expert care to pain relief and meals.
