It's Grim Up North

This event is part of the It's Grim Up North calendar of runs, offering a range of distances and levels of difficulty so there is something for everyone.

Famous for its low-key approach, all runners will be greeted with a warm smile and friendly chat.

The aim is to get you out running, help you enjoy the beautiful countryside with great camaraderie and for you to experience the sense of well-being you get when you cross that finish line.

You'll be shown that the North is anything but Grim.

Road crossings

There are a couple of road crossings – please take extra care. Marshals are not allowed to stop traffic. The roads will be marked by a sign. Part of the course runs along quiet country lanes.

Water/feed stations

There will be water/feed stations along the route approximately every 3-4 miles. Marshals will be placed along the route at the turnaround points and on the water/feed stations.

6.5 hours.

Headphones

The use of headphones is not endorsed for the following safety reasons:

  • Runners cannot always hear the marshals’ instructions
  • Runners may not hear cyclists behind them and stray into their path
  • Bone conduction earphones are allowed

This is cupless event. All runners are requested to bring their own labelled, reusable cup or bottle. These may be filled before, during and after the event.
