THE ROC takes on the Highlands, and takes on the UK’s highest mountain with the unique and progressive ROC triathlon format. This race has it all including the highest elevation gain of all THE ROC events. From the swim in Loch Leven, the ‘gravel/mountain’ bike route on part road part trail to Fort William through the most epic terrain, the run up Ben Nevis and back again, you will reap the rewards for years to come when you cross the finish line at the Isles of Glencoe.
Kicking off in Glencoe on the dramatic shoreline of Loch Leven, THE ROC Scotland starts with a 1.5km swim before heading off 38.5km on ‘gravel/mountain’ bike, 26km road, 12.5km trail to the Glen Nevis Transition. The race then heads off on foot up the UK’s highest mountain, with 4,265 feet of assent to the summit of Ben Nevis, with 16.8km total trek up and down. A return 42km bike leg back to Glencoe (a little extra distance on the road) and a 1km trail run to the finish line on the waters edge of Loch Leven.
