Event overview
If you like beautiful races in beautiful places, like fun, like medals and like goodies then this event is for you.
You'll enjoy a bespoke medal and treats at the finish line!

This event is part of the It's Grim Up North calendar of runs, offering a range of distances and levels of difficulty so there is something for everyone.
Famous for its low-key approach, all runners will be greeted with a warm smile and friendly chat.
The aim is to get you out running, help you enjoy the beautiful countryside with great camaraderie and for you to experience the sense of well-being you get when you cross that finish line.
You'll be shown that the North is anything but Grim.
Another of the off-road colliery runs, you'll want to stick around even after your race is over. Collect your cake, your finisher's medal and enjoy the beautiful Rothwell Country Park.
Runners will be able to choose the distance that suit them best.
When you complete your race, everyone is encouraged to stay around and have a chat with friends and enjoy the post-race feast.

Great route with a bit of everything and suitably challenging. Great aid stations and supportive and encouraging volunteers at the aid stations and on route. Brill! Anne L
As a newbie to the running community, I found the event well organised, easy to find and the route easy to follow, but most importantly, everyone was welcoming. The goodies at the end were a nice touch and added to the day. The location was well suited for a number of reasons. Sammie F
Well planned out, and the staff and Marshalls are so friendly! The routes are always great, and Ruddy Rothwell is a great race because of the off-road friendly terrain and the convenience of getting there! The drinks and cakes at the end are a wonderful bonus, not to mention the fabulous medal! Georgina H
