Reputedly the burial place of a mythical giant, Mount Snowdon is a massively popular day-time trek but becomes a whole new challenge at night! You will ascend under the stars as the night sky settles around you and you'll be afforded an unmissable opportunity to witness the sunrise from the peak. Spectacular landscapes will gradually emerge from the darkness as you descend amongst lightening surroundings.
Knowing every pound raised will help to improve lives affected by cancer, you'll experience a monumental sense of achievement in conquering this sleeping giant of Gwynedd.
Day 1: Arrive in Llanberis
We’ll meet for dinner and a full briefing in the beautiful lakeside town of Llanberis. As the sun is setting, we’ll set off on our exciting night adventure! We head up the Llanberis path, which roughly shadows the famous Snowdon Mountain Railway. There will be some excellent views in the fading light before we’ll have to get our head torches out. The gradient becomes a little steeper as we move past the halfway house on our way to the summit. At the height of 1085m, we will take some time to experience the summit and watch the sunrise over the breath-taking landscape.
Day 2: Descend and depart
The sky will start to lighten as we re-tread our steps on the less arduous descent of the mountain. Our brightening surroundings will provide wonderful views over the Menai straight towards Anglesey and an opportunity to appreciate what we have achieved in a night’s work! On arrival back in Llanberis, we’ll enjoy a big celebration breakfast, before saying our farewells to our new friends and heading home.
