This once in a lifetime ride is an outstanding way to experience the iconic majesty of one of the Natural Wonders of the World, this bike ride follows one of the most scenic routes on the planet.
Not only taking in the Grand Canyon and Colorado River, you’ll also explore the colourful desert, old Western towns and the famous Route 66 as you ride towards the vibrant entertainment capital of Las Vegas.
These incredible surroundings offer wonderful cycling and a memorable challenge!
Day 1: London - Phoenix
Fly to Phoenix and transfer to Flagstaff, have dinner and relax!
Day 2: Flagstaff - Cameron - Grand Canyon (Cycle approx. 51 miles)
We drive to Cameron, where our ride starts. We pass the Little Colorado River gorge with its striking desert watchtower, and a Native American trading post, climbing to one of the highest points on the South Rim of the Grand Canyon.
Day 3: Grand Canyon - Williams (Cycle approx. 74 miles)
Today we enjoy possibly one of the most scenic bike rides in the world – the West Rim Road. Soaking in unobstructed views of the Grand Canyon and the Colorado River, it’s a hilly day but with plenty of photo stops! We climb towards Williams, a historic town on Route 66, where the Grand Canyon steam railway gives an authentic taste of the Old West.
Day 4: Williams - Seligman - Kingman (Cycle approx 87 miles)
Starting our cycle at Seligman - now often known as Radiator Springs from the Disney Pixar ‘Cars’ movie – we follow the famous Route 66. As well as 60s gas stations and kitschy roadside attractions, look out for tumbleweed, prairie dogs and birds of prey.
Day 5: Kingman - Hoover Dam (Cycle approx 72 miles)
We pass more western-themed burger bars and cafés as we ride steadily downhill to Hoover Dam, built on the Colorado River to form Lake Mead.
Day 6: Hoover Dam - Las Vegas (Cycle approx 51 miles)
We cross into Nevada and ride around the shores of Lake Mead; a real distinction to the rocky desert landscapes we have crossed, and the biggest contrast is yet to come! Leaving the lake, we head through the suburbs to Las Vegas, the entertainment capital of the world! We finish on the famous Sunset Strip. Tonight a slap-up meal celebrates our achievements!
Day 7: Depart Las Vegas
Explore or relax until we transfer to the airport for our flights home
