Push yourself physically and mentally in an all-new, compelling environment, but don't worry - there's a sauna for you to enjoy back at the cabin as we relax and watch the Northern Lights dance their way beautifully across the night sky.
The overall experience was amazing and I've not stopped talking about it since - the huskys being the main highlight" Carla
Day 1: UK– Kuusamo
Arrive in Kuusamo, in north-eastern Finland, and drive through seemingly endless snow-covered landscapes to our comfortable cabin near Hossa.
Day 2: Cross-country Skiing (Ski approx. 3-5 hours)
Today we learn the basics of cross-country skiing with a short tour through the flat pine forest and frozen lakes. Keep your eyes peeled for reindeer! We then head out on the ski tracks before starting to make our quinzees, a type of igloo. Back at the cabin, a sauna will soothe any aching muscles!
Day 3: Snowshoeing (Snowshoe approx. 4-6 hours)
Snowshoes on, we follow a route through enchanting landscapes and beautiful snow-covered. After lunch around an open fire, we continue our journey and head back to the cabin. We finish our quinzees and can try ice swimming! Tonight we look for the magical Northern Lights and can sleep in our quinzees.
Day 4: Husky-sledding (Sledding approx. 4-5 hours)
It’s time to meet our intelligent, enthusiastic and very photogenic teams of huskies. An introduction to sled-driving and off we go! We follow a trail through forests and frozen lakes; today is a truly memorable highlight of our adventure! Later we head to our hotel to celebrate our Arctic achievements.
Day 5: Fly Kuusamo - UK
An early start for the drive to the airport for our journey home.
