This event is part of the It's Grim Up North calendar of runs, offering a range of distances and levels of difficulty so there is something for everyone.
Famous for its low-key approach, all runners will be greeted with a warm smile and friendly chat.
The aim is to get you out running, help you enjoy the beautiful countryside with great camaraderie and for you to experience the sense of well-being you get when you cross that finish line.
You'll be shown that the North is anything but Grim.
This event is part of I'll 'Sithee' at the Slawit Sweetathon Slog.
Weather dependant. If wet trail shoes.
Parking is very limited, you can however park on the streets around the village of Slaithwaite. Wherever possible please travel by public transport or car share.
Registration is at Slaithwaite Community Centre, Bank Gate, Slaithwaite, HD7 5XE. Please note the start and finish is at a different point from registration. The start and finish is at the side of the Huddersfield narrow gauge canal.
Depending which route you are doing there is one major road crossing and a couple of small road crossings - please take extra care. Marshals are not allowed to stop traffic.
The route is a mixture of good canal towpath and not-so-good canal towpath. The not-so-good canal towpath does become muddy after wet weather.
There will be water/feed stations along the route approximately every 3 miles. Marshals will be placed along the route at the turnaround points and on the water/feed stations.
Marathon runners may request an earlier start.

This is cupless event. All runners are requested to bring their own labelled, reusable cup or bottle. These may be filled before, during and after the event.
